How to Cheer for The New Jersey Devils

Mar 24, 2011 08:07 PM

The New Jersey Devils are making on helluva comeback this year. They were tied for dead last, in the league, with the New York Islands. Now neither the Islander nor Devils hold the title of last, that belongs to the Edmonton Oilers. The Devils are now fighting for a spot in the playoffs, and it seems like they probably will make it by the April playoff deadline. The devils need all the help they can get, that is why you need to know how to properly cheer for them.

Step 1 Improve Your Scream

This one can be tough for some, but if you are a true fan you will make it happen. Practice at home, preferably in a closet, on your volume level of your scream. I suggest you start with a "WOO", "HOO" and "WEE" sounds. Try to scream as loud as you can, everyday! In time you will improve your volume, it also helps to be drunk or intoxicated in some way. After a few weeks, you will be ready to bring your scream to the game.

Step 2 Paint Your Face

If your a fan of Seinfeld you will certainly enjoy this cheer. David Puddy on Seinfeld once said "You gotta support your team". We should all take by this man when it comes to cheering, thankfully he was cheering for the NJ Devils. Now what you're going to want to do here is to go to a CVS or RiteAid type shop and pick up some red, white and black lipstick. I prefer lipstick because it stays on your face when your sweating profusely during those intense shootouts and overtimes. Study the Devil's logo and then grab a mirror and paint it on with the lipstick. You are now ready to show off your beautiful Devil's face at the game or at home!

Step 3 Buy Devil's Apparel

Eating is overrated, what you need is Devil's apparel. Go to the NHL store, Modell's or go to the Prudential Center and buy all the Devil's T-Shirts, Hats and accessories you can. Spend every last dollar you have on Devil's wear, this will ensure that everyone knows that you support one of the best franchises in sports history.

Step 4 Victory Dance

Now this is really your time to shine! When Kovalchuk or any of the other greats on the Devil's scores a goal you must incorporate a series of things in to your victory dance. The dance itself can be varied in any way you want, what ever you prefer. What I prefer is to stand up the second that puck hits the back of net, take a deep breath, scream "WOOOOO" at the top of my lungs, squat and point my fingers out like I'm shooting a gun. This is my signature, you may use it also but I hope you will create your own as time goes on

You are now ready to properly cheer during a Devil's game, grab a beer, sit back and watch the fun!
